Description
Description
The Batavus Fonk 7 is their best value for money bike. For a relatively low price you gain a beautiful, durable and fine Batavus city bike. This Fonk is ready for years of cycling fun.
The Fonk's frame is made of lightweight aluminium with the cables smoothly running trough the tubes. The sitting position is nice and comfortable and with the adjustable stem you can optimise it even further. The fixed fork is nice and direct, it steers razor sharp while also contributing to the overall lower price and weight. The roller-brakes offer good braking power and the 7 speed Shimano Nexus hub is at the same level as many other (more expensive) city bikes.
The colours are subtly visible and the elegantly designed luggage carrier makes this Fonk a classy bike. The Led lighting is cleverly placed, so it can hardly be damaged when parking. This makes this Batavus Fonk 7 speed a very fine city bike for years of cycling fun.
Heavy traffic demands a lot from a bicycle and its rider. That is why Batavus has developed a light and manoeuvrable frame for their Fonk series. The fact that this city bike also has a fixed front fork helps a lot because gives you a very direct steering feel, allowing you to make last-second steering movements.
Maintenance-free and robust
What you also absolutely demand from a bike that you want to use every day, is that it is low in maintenance. That is why this city bike has a gear hub, hub dynamo and roller brakes. The vulnerable parts of this are nicely concealed in the hubs. As a result, they are not affected by external influences, such as the weather.
Made for convenience
Making your way through the city is easy with the Batavus Fonk 7. Because you have seven gears, you always have the perfect gear available. The roller brakes are very good even in bad weather, and because the lighting works on a hub dynamo, you never have to worry not being seen. The bike also features a parking light, which stays on when you stand still for a while, like when you're at a traffic light.
Sleek design
If you like to be seen on a nice bike, then this Batavus Fonk 7 is definitely a good choice. The most beautiful details are perhaps the lighting and the bell. The bell is nicely concealed on the left brake lever, making it virtually invisible. The lighting is formed by two horizontal LED strips. The straight front fork, high rims and minimalist carrier make this a great, hip and sporty city bike. It is equipped with a good ring lock and practical baggage straps.
